How to Register on Bing Webmaster Tools: Beginner Guide (2024)
After creating a WordPress blog, the first task is to register your site with search engines. Without this step, no matter how great your content is, people might not find your site. Today, we will learn how to register on Bing Webmaster Tools among various search engines.
What is Bing Webmaster Tools?
Bing Webmaster Tools is a free tool provided by Microsoft that helps monitor search traffic and manage website performance for blogs and websites. With this tool, users can check how their homepage or blog posts appear in Bing search results and diagnose the health of their site.
So why is Bing Webmaster Tools important for those who have just created a blog?
For website operators and bloggers, Bing Webmaster Tools serves as a registration dashboard that informs search engines about our site. In other words, it introduces our site by saying, “Here’s the content we have, spread it around!”
Therefore, Bing Webmaster Tools is a very important tool, and using it effectively is closely related to ranking improvement on the Bing search engine. Connecting our site with Bing Webmaster Tools is the first step, and through this process, we can enhance search engine optimization (SEO) for our website.

How to Register on Bing Webmaster Tools
Now, let’s learn how to register your website or blog on Bing Webmaster Tools.
Visit Bing Webmaster Tools
First, visit the Bing Webmaster Tools site. If the site appears in English, as shown in the image below, click on the EN button in the top right corner, search for Korean, and change the site content to Korean.
After changing the screen to Korean, click the Sign In button in the top right corner (next to the EN button in the image) to access Bing Webmaster Tools.
Logging in with a Google account
Logging in with a Google account is the most convenient option, so I recommend using it. The reason is that if your site or blog is already registered with Google Search Console, it can be linked immediately without any additional steps.

Therefore, if your site is not yet registered with Google Search Console, please check the Google Search Console registration guide and complete the registration before returning. After all, you need to register with multiple search engines anyway!
Choose how to sign up for Bing Webmaster Tools
If you have never registered your Google account with Bing Webmaster Tools, a prompt will appear asking whether you want to connect to Bing.

Click Continue to proceed, and you will see two methods for connecting your site. Since we have already linked our site to Google Search Console, we will choose the left option.
On the next screen, click Continue to proceed.
Bing Webmaster Tools integration with Google Search Console
In Bing Webmaster Tools, the screen for connecting a Google account appears. Select the Google account registered with Google Search Console to proceed.

Click Continue to proceed. From the list of registered sites, select the site you want to register, then click the Import button.
After a short wait, if you see a success screen indicating that the site has been added, it means the registration was successful!

This completes the successful registration of your site in Bing Webmaster Tools.
How to Submit a Sitemap
Bing Webmaster Tools provides a section for submitting a sitemap.
What is a sitemap?
A sitemap is a file that represents the structure of a website, organizing pages, videos, and other files in a way that search engines can easily understand.
Essentially, a sitemap acts as a map that helps search engines crawl website content more effectively. It informs search engines about important content and the last update date of each page.
Benefits of Sitemap Submission
When search engines recognize our blog’s sitemap, they can quickly find new or updated content and share it with users.
In other words, when a search engine visits our blog to collect information, the sitemap neatly organizes new and updated content, making it easier for search engines to process.
Thus, registering a sitemap improves our blog’s visibility on the internet, helping more people find our website. This is one of the secrets to website success.
How to Register a Sitemap in Bing Webmaster Tools
In Bing Webmaster Tools, click Sitemap on the left menu, then click Submit Sitemap in the top right corner.
A window will appear prompting you to submit your sitemap URL
In the third step, enter your sitemap URL in the sitemap submission window. The sitemap URL usually follows the format below:
https://yourblogdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml
In the case of WPlaybook, https://wplaybook.com/sitemap_index.xml was entered, and then the Submit button was clicked.
If everything goes well, the status in the sitemap details will change to Success. This process takes around 10 minutes, so don’t worry if it doesn’t update immediately.
