Visit the NAVER Webmaster Tools site

First, visit the Naver Search Advisor site. When you arrive, you’ll see the Login button in the top right corner, and to its left, you’ll find the Webmaster Tools button.

First, click Login in the top left corner to sign in to Naver. On the Naver login screen, enter your ID and password, then click the Sign in button.

Submitting a Site URL to Naver Webmaster Tools

After logging in, click the Webmaster Tools button on the Naver Search Advisor homepage. This will bring up the registration screen, where you can submit the URL of the blog site you want to register.

Enter your blog URL in the input field in the center. If your website has SSL enabled, enter the address with https; otherwise, use http.

In the example shown in the image, krplaybook.com was entered. After entering the URL, click the arrow button on the right to complete the registration.

Site Ownership Verification

You need to verify the ownership of the URL you entered earlier. There are two methods for verification.

• How to upload an HTML file to your server to verify ownership
• How to add an HTML tag to the homepage head section to verify ownership

We will use the first method, which involves uploading an HTML file to the server for ownership verification. The reason for this is that Naver recommends the file upload method, as indicated in the underlined section of the image. Additionally, there is no need to complicate the theme code by inserting an HTML tag into the head section for verification.

How to verify site ownership by uploading an HTML file

Click on the HTML verification file section to download the file. Since this file is used for ownership verification, its name may look unusual. However, do not change the file name under any circumstances.

Uploading a WordPress cPanel file

We will upload the downloaded ownership verification file to the hosting server. Since most WordPress hosting services use cPanel, we will explain the process based on cPanel.

As shown in the image below, navigate to the left section of cPanel, then select Tools > Files > File Manager to access the file upload screen.

On the screen that looks like this, first, click on settings in the top right corner and set the Document Root for section to select your homepage address so that you can see your homepage root folder, then press Save.

Check that the public_html folder is open in the left navigation panel. Then, click the Upload button at the top to upload the downloaded file. Once uploaded, the HTML file should appear in the designated box area below.
