Steps to Register on Daum Webmaster Tools
To register your site on Daum Webmaster Tools, the first step is to visit the platform. When you access the site, you’ll see the following screen.
From here, follow the steps to proceed with the registration process efficiently!

Issuing a PIN Code
To register your site, Daum Webmaster Tools uses a PIN code (essentially a password) that must be updated in the robots.txt file.
To obtain your PIN code, click “Issue PIN Code” on the left side of the screen (refer to the image for guidance).
Next, enter your WordPress blog address and password in the provided fields, then click “Agree to Terms”. Make sure to remember the password you set here, as you will need it for future logins to Daum Webmaster Tools.

After checking the “Agree to Terms” checkbox, you will see a screen displaying important usage guidelines. Click the “Confirm” button to proceed.

Upon clicking the Confirm button, the previously inactive confirmation button will become enabled. Click it again to finalize the registration.

Once you click Confirm again, the PIN code issuance process will be complete. This encrypted PIN code now needs to be updated in your robots.txt file. Click the clipboard copy button on the left to copy your PIN code. Now, let’s update this in your site’s configuration!

Updating the PIN Code in robots.txt
Once you’ve received your PIN code, you need to update it in your site’s robots.txt file. Here’s how to do it, using WordPress as an example.
Updating robots.txt in WordPress
If you’re running a WordPress site, the Rank Math plugin makes it easy to update your robots.txt file.
Refer to the image below and navigate through the following steps to access the robots.txt editor:
- Rank Math SEO Menu > General Settings > Edit robots.txt
In the black screen section shown below, insert your copied PIN code (highlighted in red).
Click the Save Change button to apply the update.
Next, modify the following text to match your site and paste it into the robots.txt file. Be sure to copy everything from “User-agent:” onwards!*
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Sitemap: https://yourblogdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml

Verification and Results of Robots.txt Update
To check whether the update was successful, click the Robots Rule Test button on the Daum Webmaster Tools screen.
If the authentication key is not detected during the test:
- Don’t panic! The process can take up to a day.
- If you are using a cache plugin, try clearing the cache and regenerating it (Purge All).
- Remove the hash symbol (#) on the last line of the provided code and attempt verification again!

Finally, click the Start Verification button to complete the PIN code registration process.

After following these steps, your WordPress site registration on Daum Webmaster Tools is now complete!
Now, let’s dive into how to use Daum Webmaster Tools effectively.
How to Use Daum Webmaster Tools
Now that the PIN code registration is complete, let’s explore how to use Daum Webmaster Tools.
Logging into Daum Webmaster Tools
Remember the password you set when issuing your PIN code earlier?
Go to the Daum Webmaster Tools site, enter your URL and password, then click the Verify button.

After clicking the Verify button, you will enter the Webmaster Tools, where the following screen will welcome you.
Registering Your Sitemap and Requesting Document Crawling
Now, let’s register the sitemap for your WordPress blog.
On the menu above, you will find the “Crawl Request” option. Click on it and scroll down until you see the “Crawl Seed URL Registration (Sitemap)” section.
Here, enter your sitemap URL.
If you are using Rank Math Plugin on your WordPress site, your sitemap URL will look like this:
Refer to the sitemap URL from WPlaybook below and adapt it for your own website accordingly.
https://yourblogdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml
For WPlaybook, the sitemap URL entered was: https://wplaybook.com/sitemap_index.xml
Once you submit a Crawl Request, the Daum bot will automatically index your blog’s document data. However, keep in mind that the process can take quite a long time—patience is key when managing a blog!
Indexing Period After Site Registration
For reference, the blog SlgStatLife was registered on November 24, 2023. However, Daum did not index the blog posts until February 21, 2024, at which point nearly all posts were indexed at once.

Therefore, register your blog during the initial setup, then just forget about it! 😊 Over time, Daum will start bringing traffic to your blog.
