How to Adjust Font Size in WordPress (Kadence Theme)
Many users are using the All-Back theme provided by WPlaybook, and I’ve received quite a few questions about how to adjust the font size, especially on mobile where the font can feel a bit large. So, I’ve put together a brief guide on how to adjust it.
How to Change Font Size in the Kadence Theme
First, the All100 theme is a child theme of the Kadence theme. Therefore, to use the All-Back theme well, it helps to understand how to use the Kadence theme itself.
Kadence provides separate menu settings to adjust PC, tablet, and mobile screen views independently. This makes building a responsive website very convenient. Similarly, font size adjustments are also made separately for each of these three device types.
How to adjust WordPress fonts
To adjust fonts in WordPress, go to Customize > Colors & Fonts > Typography. If you see a menu section like the one in the picture below, you’ve successfully arrived at the right place.
WordPress websites generally have two main font groups: Base (body) font and Heading (title) font. The screen shown is for adjusting the base (body) font, where the 20px section is currently selected.
The area labeled Base Font is where you adjust font-related settings:
- Font: currently set to System Default
- Style: currently set to regular, if you want it to be bold, adjust here
- Size: currently set to 20px
Within the size section, there are several detailed options such as Font size, Line Height, and Letter Spacing. Pay special attention to the red check box area.
Right now, the monitor icon is highlighted in blue, which means the body font size is set to 20px for desktop.

When using the Kadence theme, you will often see icons like these indicating device types from left to right: PC, Tablet, Mobile. The settings apply in this order:
If you set a font size on the PC view without separate settings for tablet or mobile, the PC font size will automatically apply to those devices as well.

Therefore, if the PC body font size is fine but you want to reduce the mobile font size, click the mobile icon on the far right and set a suitable font size for mobile separately.
If you want to reduce the font size across all devices, just adjust the size under the PC icon and it will apply everywhere.
