How to Convert Your WordPress Blog Page to a Two-Column Layout
Hi, this is Isaac from WPlaybook. After you first create your WordPress blog, customizing it becomes really fun. 😊 Many community members using the Allbark 100 theme often ask how to change their blog page to have two columns like the WPlaybook blog page. Since this question keeps coming up, I decided to write a simple post about it. Compared to the one-column layout used in the All100 theme, a two-column blog page has more things to consider—both pros and cons—than you might think, so please be sure to read through until the end!
How to Edit Your WordPress Blog Page (Two-Column Layout with the Allbark Theme)
First, let me explain how to style your WordPress blog page into a two-column layout, which I know many of you are curious about.
1. customize
Go to the Customize page as shown below.

Set Post Archive to Two Columns
Next, go to Posts/Pages Layout > Archive Layout, and set the Post Archive Columns to 2.

Set Image Ratio
Then, set the image ratio to 2:1. The reason for this is that this ratio is the closest match for AdSense in-feed ads. Also, when sharing via KakaoTalk, the image ratio closely matches the thumbnail, so you don’t need to separately check thumbnails for Kakao sharing, which is very convenient.
After completing these settings, you can confirm that the blog page now shows posts in a two-column layout.

When you’re done, you’ll see that your blog page will look like this, with a two-column layout.

Pros and cons
The advantage is that you can display more posts on your blog page, but the downside is that the in-feed ads on mobile are less natural compared to the single-column layout set in the Allbark theme.
In the Allbark theme’s mobile version, thumbnails use a 1:1 ratio, so in-feed ads and display ads fit perfectly. However, with the two-column layout, in-feed ads look fine, but display ads tend to look a bit awkward or floaty. This means there might be a slight disadvantage in terms of ad revenue, so please keep this in mind!
