How to Add a New User in WordPress
While running WPlaybook, I often get questions from people who run into errors while following blog creation tutorials, or who are unfamiliar with certain WordPress functions. In some complex cases, you may need to use the “Add New User” feature in WordPress to register me as an administrator.
Today, let’s take a look at how to register a new user in WordPress.
WordPress Add New User Feature
WordPress allows you to register multiple users. The most standard way is to use the Add New User feature found in the Users section.
Click the “Add New” button as shown in the image below.

When you hit the Add New User button, you’ll be presented with a space to enter the information you’d need to register a real user. (See photo below.)
After filling in the Username, Email, First Name, Last Name, and Website information, leave the password as it is, set the Role, and then click the Add New User button.
- If you check the option “Send the new user an email about their account”, the new user will receive an email upon being added.
Before logging in, the new user can set their own password and then access the site.
